Fraunhofer Institute for Security in Information Technology
Fraunhofer SIT
The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der angewandten Forschung e.V. is the leading organization of institutes of applied research and development in Europe. Strategic research is carried out aiming at promoting innovations in key technologies with an economic and social relevance in the next five to ten years. A staff of approximately 13.000, the majority being qualified scientists and engineers, work with an annual research budget of about one billion Euro. SIT, an institute of about 80 scientific staff members, is one of the pioneers within the field of IT-Security in Germany and Europe and has experience in development and promotion of security technologies and in embedding of security technologies into already established applications.


The Université Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC) will be represented in the project by the Laboratoire d’Informatique de Paris 6 (LIP6) which is the computer science laboratory at UPMC. It is one of the largest computer science laboratories in France with more than 350 researchers covering a wide spectrum of topics ranging from theoretical computer science to VLSI, among them the Network and Performance Analysis (NPA) group covers issues related to networking. In particular, NPA focuses on creating a vision for the Internet of the future as well as designing solutions to shape and manage it.
First Oversi Ltd.

First Oversi Ltd. (Oversi) is an Israeli SME offering innovative solutions for Peer-to-Peer (P2P) networks in today's fast-growing Internet TV and video age. Oversi's caching and delivery solutions enable Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and operators to optimize their network performance, relieve P2P traffic pressure and save on bandwidth. The same carrier-class platform helps ISPs to increase revenues and enhance user stickiness through new value-added services, such as premium content delivery and online storage.
Oversi's platform is based on its patented Scalable Grid Service System (SGSS™) that is optimized to store and deliver huge amounts of Internet traffic. Flexible and robust, Oversi's grid platform has been successfully implemented by service providers around the world.
Oversi focuses on the Service Provider's needs. Our aim is to enable Service Providers to utilize existing networks to best serve New Customer's demands for new services. We believe the key to Service Provider's success is not in limiting the customers but in being tuned to their needs and in providing the best service possible.
Oversi enables the Service Provider to leverage on the New Customer's demands, presenting key user differentiators, maximizing market presence and turning these demands into a new flow of revenues. Oversi has 3 years of accumulated knowledge and field experience in the development and enhancement of P2P protocols and caching devices. This experience and knowledge will be utilised to carry out the tasks at hand.
The Informatics and Telematics Institute (ITI) was founded in 1998 as a non-profit organisation under the auspices of the General Secretarial of Research and Technology of Greece. Since March 2000 it is a founding member of the Centre of Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) also supervised by the Greek Secretariat of Research and Technology. CERTH-ITI is one of the leading Institutions of Greece in the fields of Informatics, Telematics and Telecommunications, with long experience in numerous European and national R&D projects. CERTH-ITI has participated in more than 50 research projects funded by the European Commission (IST FP5-FP6) and more than 85 research projects funded by Greek National Research Programmes and Consulting Subcontracts with the Private Sector (I&T Industry). In 2006, the Informatics and Telematics Institute attracted an income of €5.6M from National and European competitive R&D projects. The development of the infrastructure of CERTH-ITI was financed by the National Research fund EPET II with €2,3M in the period 1998-2000. In 2002 and 2005, selected committees of experts in Information and Telecommunications Technology from European countries (other than Greece) evaluated the GSRT institutions. ITI was graded with 9,65/10 and 4,4/5 respectively and on this basis it was awarded grants of more than €800K.

Martel is a small privately-owned consultancy company, founded in 1996. However, its employees have experience of participation in EU collaborative telecommunications research projects since 1988. The company has been closely associated with the running of some of the largest collaborative R&D projects in the EU Framework Programmes related to information technology, telecommunications and the Internet.




Institut EURECOM
Institut Eurecom is a graduate school of engineering and a research institute in telecommunications located in Sophia Antipolis, France. It is a consortium of industrial and academic members including Télécom Paris, EPFL, Swisscom, Hasler Stiftung, Thalès, SFR, France Telecom, HITACHI Europe, Texas Instruments, ST Microelectronics, Bouygues Telecom, SHARP, BMW, CISCO, Politecnico di Torino and Helsinki University of Technology. Eurecom will be represented by its computer networks research team.
